Yelling the site of this blog at folks from car window to car window was not easy, as I can't remember the exact url for the blog. People tend to ask you why you're taking a picture of bumpers when they see you - I've only been asked by the owner of a truck once so far. He seemed happy that I liked his sticker, though like is probably not entirely the accurate word (to be fair, I said "I'm taking a pic of the sticker" and he said "Yeah, it's awesome" so the assumption was his).
The point of this rambling is that the blog can now be found at the much-easier-to-remember url www.bumperwars.net.

Guns!!
The outlaw sticker pertains to a popular sticker (which I have yet to document, but have seen plenty) that reads "If Guns Are Outlawed, Only Outlaws Will Have Guns". I know it's out there, and as soon as I get it, posted it shall be.
Regardless of personal opinion, the gun debate in good ole' FL makes for a great bumper war. More to follow (I'm sure)...
The last one is a little small, but rest assured it reads "Criminals Prefer Unarmed Victims." I swear, I'll invest in a program that allows zooming eventually....

All Kinds of Jesus
The second truck has the bootlegged Calvin & Susie kneeling at the cross praying. I find this one particularly amusing for the following reason. Bill Waterson made a point of never licensing the image of Calvin, Hobbes, Susie or anything else from his strip; this would mean that putting this sticker on your truck is technically a violation of the stealing commandment, not that informing anyone would make a difference. Finally, a little bumper humour for your enjoyment.

Bumper Wars
Upon moving to North Florida, I quickly noticed an abundance of bumper stickers on my drive to work. It's not that I'd never seen a bumper sticker - it was more the amount, and the wide array of topics covered in a less than a square foot (well, usually) on the back of a car.
A few things struck me as odd;
- The sheer volume of messages I was hit with
- The content covered in the stickers.
- Why anybody would need (or desire) to profess their utmost beliefs to a group of strangers on their way to (insert location) in sticker format.
- Why anybody feels the need to pay to advertise a product they don't own on their car
- The development of the back-and-forth (or call and response) rivalry playing out on cars.
Anyway - I decided to buy a camera with a decent zoom in attempts to document what I found. It's North Florida - lots of Jesus, lots of politics with a few others (and maybe a few signs) thrown in for good measure.
